Composer — Valencia, Spain
Exploring the narrative potential of noise and the transformation of sonic impulses into musical gesture.
Select a section aboveAbout
Aarón Esteve (b. 1997, L'Alcúdia de Crespins, Valencia, Spain) is a composer whose work explores the narrative potential of noise and the transformation of sonic impulses into musical gesture — investigating how raw, unstable sound material can generate coherent musical discourse, from the microscopic detail of a single timbral event to large-scale orchestral architecture.
I began my studies in Composition at the Joaquín Rodrigo Conservatory of Music in Valencia, where I studied with Voro García, Marc García Vitoria, José Luis Escrivà, Héctor Oltra, and Carlos Foncuberta. Through the Erasmus programme, I spent a year in Porto studying with Telmo Marques, Dimitrios Andrikopoulos, and Ângela Da Ponte, where I am currently completing a Master's degree in Composition at ESMAE.
My training has also included participation in festivals such as MIXTUR and ENSEMS, where I received instruction from Georges Aperghis, Agustí Charles, Joan Magrané, José Manuel López López, Luis Naón, and Murilo Cacciatore.
My works have been featured in projects such as the 2023 National Tour of Plural Ensemble and the XIV Contemporary Music Festival SoXXI, and have been performed at venues including the Auditorio Nacional Reina Sofía (Madrid), Teatros del Canal (Madrid), Espacio Turina (Seville), and Teatro Helena Sá e Costa (Porto). I was awarded an Honorable Mention in the XXXV Concurso Jóvenes Compositores of the SGAE Foundation.
Forthcoming works include Kuebiko for ensemble, to be performed by ANTARA Grup CSMV at the Palau de la Música de València, and manual para un fama, a commissioned work from Projeto DME (Portugal) for Ensemble Orbis.
